Hi I have created document on Exel which I am constantly editing. Whenever I try to save it it says read only and I have to keep saving the same document under a new name. I have been creating document this way for the last 2 years and this hasn't happened before. Can someone tell me how to disable the read only element permanently?

Go to where the file is saved right click on it and select properties. See if the the read only option is selected and un check it and save. Then re open the excel file.

If that is what is occurring then it could be the folder options making everything read only in that folder perhaps.
OR

Start>All Programs>Microsoft Office>Microsoft Excel>Click Office Orb>Open The Document>Click Office Orb>Select Save As>Click Tools Button>General Options>Un check "Read Only" option>Save = Complete and free of read only mode for the document.

I TRY TO USE THE DATA FILTER AND IT SAYS NO ITEM FOUND ALTHOUGH THE ITEM IS ON MY SPREADSHEET SOMETIMES IT WORKS MOST OF THE TIME IT DOESN'T WHAT CAN THIS BE?

I love Microsoft Excel and depend on it for my monthly budgets and record keeping; however, I have been trying to find an answer to the problem with straggler numbers in my equations. For example, 400 - 400 = .000000000000000000463549840 or some other number with a bunch of zeroes after the decimal before a bunch of random straggler numbers. The formulas are fine, but the answers regardless of the formulas 95% of the time wind up with answers that should be zero but are instead straggler numbers which makes it unreliable for budgeting properly without my correction cells that I create in its own section of each spreadsheet. Any solutions anyone?
